Dr. Li teaches transportation planning and policies, techniques of planning analysis, research methods and data analysis, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Her recent research focuses on the linkage between transportation planning/policies and sustainability using quantitative, qualitative, and spatial data analysis techniques. Some examples of her research topics include economic outcomes of governmental transportation investments; organizational collaboration for transportation planning to promote healthy and equal ecosystem; impacts of transportation pricing policies on travel behavior, air quality, mobility, and revenue for transportation finance; and transportation and social determinants of health outcomes. Her research has been supported by the U S. Department of Transportation, Texas State Department of Transportation, the North Central Texas Council of Governments, and cities in the DFW metropolitan area.
