The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex (DFW) is the fourth largest population center in the US. The economic development and population growth of North Texas is challenged by the scarcity of water. While the population is projected to double by 2060, the existing water supply is estimated to decrease by 10%. Researchers at UTA are developing innovative solutions and tools to address challenges in planning and management of water resources and water-related hazards in the DFW area and elsewhere, and to support sustainable growth of the region.
